On the 11th March 2006 we played a very important gig on
behalf of the
Jacob Moorhouse appeal, at the Carnegie Rooms, Thetford.
Jacob Moorhouse is a 6 year old boy with very special needs.
He suffers from Quadriplegic Celebral Palsy, Severe Microcephaly, Epilepsy, Severe Learning and communication difficulties. Carl
and Michelle have been trying to get an extension built for their son. Due
to Jacobs complex special needs his purpose built extension is estimated at
£45,000.This cost should be covered by the Disabled Facility Grant, but
present government legislation has capped the amount available to £25,000.
This leaves a shortfall for Jacobs extention to £20,000. We were able to
raise over £1400 at this particular gig but they still need to raise a lot
more. Their web site address is
http://jacobs-appeal.mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk if you can help them.
In the meantime here's how the show went.
Geoff
K was in charge of the New PA system, and we
were able to show him off towards the end of the show. Our thanks also go to
Pete J who was a whiz on the lighting. Tina's friend Ollie managed to
produce the best quality video we've had so far, really brilliant, what
wonderful memory.
We were very pleased
to introduce our new
dancer, Tina. Linzi and Tay worked endlessly to help Tina prepare for her
first show with us, and they all did us proud. Mandy was unable to appear
in the show due to post operation recovery, so a lot of the set
had to be changed to work with three instead of 4 dancers.
New songs included Carrie, The
Only Way Out, The Day I Met
Marie and the wonderful medley of Somewhere Over
the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World.
Everyone joined in the evening
with lots of singing and dancing, we had a fabulous time , so congrats all
round.
Thank you everyone for your
support, we couldn't have done it without you.
